Anglo Euro Developers is involved in coal concessions in Kalimantan and Sumatra for Coal Gasification projects.
Utilizing low rank coal as feedstock, a gasifier converts hydrocarbon into gaseous components by producing Syngas in the process. Syngas or synthesis gas, is a fuel gas mixture consisting primarily of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and very often some carbon dioxide. Synthetic natural gas (SNG) is created in the process for producing ammonia or methanol. Ammonia is created by nitrogen-hydrogen reactions which can be easily stripped out of the gas stream.
Indonesia has embarked on a few coal gasification projects especially in areas of low rank coal in Southern Sumatra. More projects will come on-stream in coal producing areas of Sumatra and Kalimantan, which includes combine cycle power generation using Syngas.
COMBINE CYCLE POWER GENERATION UTILIZING SYNGAS
In Integrated Gasification Combined-Cycle (IGCC) systems, the syngas is cleaned of its hydrogen sulfide, ammonia and particulate matter and is burned as fuel in a combustion turbine. Exhaust heat from the combustion turbine is recovered creating steam for steam turbine-generator.
Gasification based power systems can achieve high power generation efficiencies. Anglo Euro Developers intends to form joint ventures to participate in coal gasification and combine cycle generation projects, and shall provide the local infrastructure such as coalmines, local licenses, permits, logistical and operational support, and other services
